The VisualDesignLab at Northern Arizona University gives local clients (typically non-profits) the opportunity to request a range of imagery, designed by NAU’s own student graphic designers.

NAU’s Department of Theatre put on a performance of the hit show RENT in Spring of 2024, so they came to the VDL to request a poster to promote the event to the community. They requested typography different from the film, so I made that the focal point of my new poster design. Leaning into the queer context and social activism within the story of RENT, I included the New York skyline, the LGBTQ pride colors, and various famous quotes from the show.
